It is reported that former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has also applied to become the coach of Team India. Prasad is currently the Chief Selector of the Junior National Team, where his three-year term is going to be completed in September. After Prasad's arrival in the race to become a coach, the number of candidates has now become 7.  5 people had applied for the head coach of the Indian cricket team. But after applying Ravi Shastri and Venkatesh Prasad recently, these numbers have been seven.  To become head coach, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Doda Ganesh, Richard Pies, Ravi Shastri and Venkatesh Prasad have already applied.  The BCCI had already made it clear that Team India would get its new coach before the Sri Lanka Tour. The Indian team's tour of Sri Lanka will begin on July 24. Right now Team India has gone in the West Indies to play five ODIs and 1 T Twenty T20 matches.  Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has taken 96 wickets in 33 Test matches from India. In ODIs, he has taken 196 wickets in 161 matches.  Venkatesh has been a bowling coach of the team between 2007 and 2009.
