Mitali, 34, is playing his fifth World Cup. But you would be surprised to know that Indian captain never wanted to become a cricketer. Rather they had to become a classical dancer. Mitali was born on 3 December 1982 in Jodhpur. Father Durai Raj was an officer in Air Force and mother Leela Raj had also played cricket. Due to his birth in the Tamil family, he started learning classical dance in his childhood. Till the age of 10, Mithali had become proficient in Bharatanatyam. He started thinking about making career in this.  But luck was not so approved. Mitali was lazy since childhood. Father wanted that the daughter remained in discipline and became active. That's why they asked him to play cricket. At the age of 10, Mitali was seen leaving classical dance in the field holding a bat in his left hand.  After this, his schooling took place in Hyderabad. Practice cricket with boys in school. At the age of 17, Mithali was selected in the Indian team. Mithali said in an interview that in the beginning I had just started playing cricket for the happiness of the parents. My first love was Bharatanatyam. Once upon a time I thought of building a career in civil service. Mithali is fond of reading books. They wait for their turn while reading the book before going to bat in each match. He was recently seen doing so in a World Cup match against England. Mitali has achieved many achievements in his 17 years of international career. He is the first woman cricketer who got the Wisden India Cricketer Award. At the age of 21, he was given the command of the Indian team. He has captained the team in 57 consecutive matches. The second most successful player to do this. In his captaincy, the Indian team won the Test series for the first time in England in 2006. Mithali is the second woman cricketer to score 5500+ runs.
